Audio lessons for the rides you do alone

Better biomechanics.
Better horsemanship.
Happier horses.

I’m Sam Baer — a trainer, coach and podcast host in Aiken, South Carolina. I work with horses’ nervous systems and biomechanics, and I give riders the tools to be the person their horse needs.

You know how to ride.
You just ride alone.

Most weeks it’s you, the horse, and an empty arena. So you do what you know: twenty minutes of trot, a few circles, a canter each way. The ride wasn’t bad. It just wasn’t for anything.

A lesson every other week can’t fix that — the other twelve rides are where your horse is actually built. Ride Along is for those twelve: a plan in your ear, a reason for every transition, and a horse who gets straighter, softer and sounder because of the way you spent Tuesday.

01Pick

Choose today's ride

Filter by what's actually in front of you: a stiff back, a hot horse, a senior who needs rails, straightness that's gone missing.

02Press play

One earbud, then mount

You still hear your horse and the arena. No screens, no stopping — the lesson runs at the pace of a real ride.

03Ride it

I talk you through it

What to feel for, when to ask, when to leave it alone. The correction comes while you need it, not after.

Why I’m building this now

I’ve spent eleven years teaching riders the same twenty minutes.

Not the flashy part. The part at the beginning, where you decide whether today’s ride makes your horse better or just tires him out. Get that right and everything downstream — the straightness, the soundness, the trust — starts arriving on its own.

The trouble is that I can’t be at your barn on a wet Tuesday. So I recorded it: full lessons, in real time, the way I’d teach them standing in the middle of your arena. You put one earbud in, you get on, and I’m there for the whole ride.

It’s new. The library is still small and there are no polished reviews of it yet — the riders quoted below know me from the barn, not from an app. What there is instead is a new ride every Friday, a founding price that never moves while you stay, a direct line to me, and a promise: tell me what you’re stuck on and it becomes a lesson.

Before you ask

Is it safe to ride with headphones?

One earbud, or a bone-conduction headset. You hear your horse and the arena the whole time, and no lesson ever asks you to touch your phone.

Dressage, hunters, eventing — which is this for?

The flatwork underneath all three. If you walk, trot and canter independently, there is a lesson tagged for you.

How long are the lessons?

Fourteen to twenty-three minutes — the length of a real warmup. They are full rides in real time, not clips, so you can repeat the same one all season.

What if it isn't for me?

Cancel in one click, no contract, and the free rides stay yours. Monthly is $39/month if you'd rather not commit to a year.
